The Cthulhu of Projects: It Will Take Over the World

I was working on GOLGOTHA in an attempt to get it up to a definite 30,000 words for beginning NaNoWriMo-- yes, to all who do not know, I am working on a pre-started novel for NaNo. It promptly decided to eat three characters from another story that I had abandoned. Which is complicated for one reason: the abandoned story that was eaten is attached to one I'm still poking at. I'm supposed to be dividing up the characters of the one I'm still poking at and passeling them out to their own stories, but I'm not sure I'm ready to give up yet. Yet, apparently I am, because Cordan, Yeni, and Mal are definitely appearing as members of the Android Project. I've been thinking about having them be members of the Android Project for a while, now they're definitely in.

Dear all things holy and beautiful, such as chocolate and caffeine:

Please to let me never stop loving the Android Project, because it is just too damn cool at this point. Also, I just can't deal with passeling out characters again. It's very stressful.

Thank you for your help, gods of caffeine and chocolate. I promise to pay homage to you soon.

Love,
me

This is just plain cool!

Okay, so I was POed and trying to find why my TV is playing "The Boogyman" with instead of Supernatural, as is proper, but anyway, this comes up on Google when you type in "Why the--"

Why the f do you have a kid
Why the sky is blue
Why the caged bird sings
Why the lucky stiff
Why the scale lies
Why the world won't end in 2012
Why the drinking age should be lowered
Why the future doesn't need us
Why the world will end in 2012
Why the line x 4 is a vertical line

Dude, this is awesome.

Highlights of the Day

"Plz to be learning how to write." - A very good suggestion that far too many people need to take the advice of.

"Alastair will die screaming." - for some reason this is incredibly romantic and sweet. Don't ask.

"Do you not feel the squee? Feel the squee. Ride the squee. Be the squee." -  My mind is convoluted. Again, not asking is probably a good plan here...

Gah, Argh, and Pshaw

Why is it that for every short story that I finish, I remember that I have about five thousand others that I need to finish? Mostly done with "Under Bridges" that I wrote at Alpha, just waiting for my second crit to finish up, so now I go over to peer at "A Worthy Pursuit," then remember that I'm tripling or quadrupling the length of the damn thing. It's fun, but I can't remember what I was trying to do when I wrote the first part, since I was doing something Adventurous again, this time with POV. And also, I keep forgetting that my revised part one needs to be stuck onto my laptop rather than the desktop computer. And at some point, I really do need to work on "The Demon Thardhak," since I want to do some interesting things concerning the color of silence...

Oh crap.

I am trying desperately (and failing) to find out who wrote the original post on the fruit with personalities who had the sex and complicated love triangles. I feel it should be [info]aggybird , because she started the epic Wereyorkie movement (my contribution located here), but know that it cannot be so. [info]tygati is also a choice, but the largest part of me feels that it's [info]maderr. I desperately want to find this, but cannot.

Edit - I FOUND IT!!! Located here.

IT EATS THE SOUL

The Android Project consists of:

Three crossover short stories or drabbles (for random fun bits, to amuse me): Doctor Who, Firefly, and Torchwood
Two drabbles, vaguely connected
Five to six short stories (A Worthy Pursuit, I Heard the Church Bells Toll, Weapon (Landon Veritas), Falling is easy., Lazarus Fate)
Two poems
And of course, the untitled main story

That means 13-14 total parts of the Android Project, one of which is monstrously long (I.E. untitled)

The thing is, it sucks in even things that weren't originally meant to be part of it, like Lazarus Fate, I Heard the Church Bells Toll, and A Worthy Pursuit. And then it promptly takes several different other ideas that have been bopping around my head, steals them, and combines them into the Android Project. It steals from other stories. It is a thief.

I love my Android Project. This revelation/adoration is in preparation of ignoring school work later and writing like mad. It should be fun.

And Yet More Maniacal Laughter!

While ignoring the mountains of assignments I have for classes, I have managed to actually work on my main Android Project fic and finish off the tenth chapter, putting me in at 29500 words, 52 pages, 101 double-spaced. It'll probably be 80000-ish words when it's done, but I'm feeling the halfway mark approaching and am veeeeeeery happy.

Unfortunately, still untitled. Less pleased about this fact. Either Reperio Sanctum (Finding Sanctuary) or GOLGOTHA. Cannot decide, but want GOLGOTHA more, except I have an offshoot of the Android Project called the Golgotha Project. Wish to beat head against wall about this.

...I could always change the name of the offshoot...

Insert Maniacal Laughter Here

Jeez, I love [info]maderr. She directed my attention to the fact that there is the most awesome song in the world in existence, "I Kissed a Boy" by Cobra Starship. This song = such total win that I'm busily giggling my head off over here and playing it on repeat. Of course, it's sort of making me want a Flogging Molly CD again for some reason, but I'm okay with that.

In other news, I'm doing pirates. Not in that way, of course. I'm writing them. It's fun. I get nautical terms, supercargoes, and captains. Of course, me being me, I'm having someone infiltrate the ship to assassinate the captain, brewing a revolt, and overthrowing an Evil Ruler. I think I have a thing for revolts. I really need to find another thing to write about, but rebellions are just so freaking neat. I likes the politics and the Bad Governments.

I'm tying it in to the Android Project, as a smaller substory. I'm meanwhile trying to find out why in FutureTime there would still be ships (as in, water, not space), but I'll prevail. I'm thinking the rich kids wanted a toy to play with and it was all because of style, but after they got sick of 'em, there were a bunch laying around cheap and smugglers wanted them to use to get out of ASOW (the government)'s eyes. Now if only I could figure out what contraband they're shipping... Weapons? Food to hostile territories? Would that work on a ship...?

Does anyone happen to know whether land or sea was faster for shipping things? I feel that it was sea, but I'm not sure.

You Know How...

You know how there's a "Where's My Stuff?" section of Amazon? There should be a "Where the Hell's My Stuff?" section for the more irate of us. I WANT MY SIMS 3! FORK IT OVER! It was supposed to be here mid-week. It is no longer midweek and the thing I ordered on the same exact day was here early this week.

Dude. Where's my stuff?

Back From Alpha

After a very long, tumultuous trip back home-- I was supposed to leave Pittsburgh at 12:50PM and get back to Ithaca at 3:40-ish, but that flight was canceled and I had to take another one to Newark at 3:00, and one from Newark to Ithaca that kept getting delayed, so I finally got back in at 1:30AM-- I am here. I miss the Alphans! GAH! I've also realized that my Stuff was not as worthy of missing while I was away as I thought, as there is too much of it and I think I need to clean my room.

I can however say that, after four hundred and fifty pages (and still not done), The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller (Kingmaker, Kingbreaker series) is full of awesome. I just wish that someone had edited the damn thing. Quotation marks instead of apostrophes abound, as do misspellings, and I'm not sure whether the wrong prefixes of words are on purpose or a mistake. Despite this, though, still made of goodness. Anyone who sees this post: read the book. She has a good feel for tone in prose with regard for character, and considering how long it is and the fact that it's part of a series (well, of two), you'll be amused for a good long time.

At Confluence

Hello all/anybody at all!

If you are at Confluence Science Fiction Convention in Pittsburgh PA, look me up!

Alpha Writers' Workshop has officially ended and we are all at Confluence, doing stuff and spending too much money in the dealers' room, as a whole. I, personally, am eagerly awaiting my plane ride home, then home, because I miss food that wasn't made in a cafeteria and the ability to actually eat any of it, since there is so little not-meat filled food.

Also, I and most of the other Alphans have a cold. I am displeased and my nose is running. Argh.

WHAAAAAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so it was an innocent enough action. Go to Wikipedia, check to make sure that the new episodes of Torchwood are going off as planned, then skedaddle out of there. Unfortunately, I clicked something to make sure, since the formatting looked weird, and it was really innocent, it was!!!

So... WHY is it that my favorite character is DYING in the arms OF HIS LOVER?!!!!

WHYYYYYYY?! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS!!! Ooh... Dammit, Torchwood, if the next season doesn't include Ianto rising from the friggin' grave, you're out a viewer. Unless you hook Jack up with John Hart. But... Ianto was wonderful and snarky and so smart and he always surprised you and Gareth David Lloyd was just about the one guy that I would seriously ever jump the bones of all out of the blue like and when he and Jack kissed the drool seriously started pouring down and now I'm going to cry my eyes out and I knew that they would do this and this is awful and...

Oh my god... Ianto, love, I'm so sorry. I'm going to bawl my eyes out, I know I am. Plz to rise from the grave now? Please? Okay, I've passed anger into pleading and I can feel the grief setting in. Why did they do this? ; _ ;
